Vision, mission, goals and tasks of the Scientific Affairs Unit

The Scientific Affairs Unit is linked to the office of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and has been considered an independent unit that carries out its tasks in coordination with the University of Baghdad, Scientific Affairs Department.

Vision:

Comprehensive advancement in everything related to the scientific and research level of members of the College of Nursing

The message:

Care and attention to sound scientific research, marketing scientific products that meet the needs of society in the health and nursing aspects, and encouraging various scientific activities based on the instructions and controls approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Objectives:

  • Encouraging scientific research and scientific cooperation with the aim of developing the level of scientific research.
  • Seeking to develop the Scientific Affairs Unit through the use of the latest programs and modern electronic technologies.

 

Unit Tasks:

  1. Regular meeting with unit members and determining and distributing tasks to them
  2. Coordination between the Deanship of the College and the various scientific branches to organize work and quickly respond to official letters
  3. Supervising the implementation of awareness campaigns according to the college’s needs
  4. Follow up on the unit’s work performance and take the necessary measures to ensure its regularity and discipline
  5. Follow up on scientific publishing for teachers
  6. Follow up on applied research for teachers and include it within its platform
  7. Promoting study leave transactions for researcher and employees who wish to obtain it
  8. Providing the Studies and Planning Division with semi-annual and annual statistics on various activities, sustainable development activities, completed research (published or accepted for publication), and incomplete research, according to forms prepared for this purpose.
  9. Following up on full-time research and teaching transactions for faculty members with the university
  10. Granting endorsement letters to teachers applying for academic promotion
  11. Follow up on the registration of the research plan for the teachers within the electronic platform and supervise its submission to the university for the purpose of approval.
  12. Submitting a plan for conferences, seminars, and workshops for each year.
  13. Follow up with the website unit to upload the activity plan within the Indeco website
  14. Supervising and following up on the implementation of volunteer work and extracurricular activities and serving institutions held by administrative or teaching staff and granting letters of support when they are established.
  15. Circulating the controls and directives received from the Scientific Affairs Department at the University Presidency to all relevant divisions, units and branches in the college.
  16. Managing activities (electronic and in-person) held inside and outside the college
  17. Supervising the conduct of educational cooperation and official overtures with other institutions and ministries
  18. Organizing twinning items with universities and private colleges by contacting the university
  19. Submitting the completion plan for the government program on a monthly basis, which includes (infrastructure, courses, conferences, and workshops held inside and outside the college, research published within global repositories and within the Scopus and Clarivate classification, twinning items with private universities and colleges, discussions inside and outside the college, and other activities).
  20. Submitting the qualitative achievement plan monthly
  21. Writing administrative books for all official requests for teachers when holding any activity, providing task facilitation, or making external overtures.
  22. Carrying out electronic archiving of the unit’s files
