The Faculty of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed the master’s thesis/ tagged effectiveness of an interventional program on nursing staff’s knowledge and practices toward the prevention of post-operative open heart surgery complications for the student Nadia Bahir Azeez.
The aim of the study
The letter also included the thesis to The findings in the study group reveal that nursing staff are showing a poor level of knowledge during the pre-test time among all items of the scale; during the post-test time, the findings indicate that nursing staff are showing a good level of knowledge among all items of the scale. And the findings in the study group reveal that nursing staff are showing a poor level of practices among all items of the scale during the pre-test time except item 12 which is (Monitor surgical incision and drain for sign of bleeding); while during the post-test time, the nursing staff are showing fair among most of items but show poor among items 4 which is (Monitor CVP) and item 9 which is (Auscultation of heart sounds); and show good among items 2, 8, 11, and 19 which are (Monitor vital signs, Monitor blood sugar, check input-output, and immediately report variances from pre operative status for future investigation of embolic strocke). The nursing staff in the control group show poor level of practices among all items of the scale during the pre-test and post-test times.
The most important recommendations reached by the study: : Nurses should be trained in the prevention of post-operative open heart surgery complications and more studies should be done toward the prevention of post-operative open heart surgery complications.And the estimate that the researcher got privilege.
