The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Nursing, University of Baghdad, organized a specialized workshop titled \u201cSocial Intelligence,\u201d presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Zaid Wahid Ajjal and Assistant Instructor Mustafa Wajih Hussein, with a strong turnout of graduate students from the college\u2019s pediatric nursing program.<\/p>\n
The main objective of the workshop was to enable participants to gain a deeper understanding of interpersonal communication skills and develop the ability to read others\u2019 emotions and feelings, as well as how to respond to them with intelligence and wisdom, thereby positively impacting students\u2019 professional and academic performance in their daily and practical interactions.<\/p>\n
The workshop yielded a number of key findings, most notably the emphasis that possessing social intelligence skills is a fundamental pillar of a nurse\u2019s success in the clinical workplace, particularly when dealing with children and their families. The recommendations also stressed the need to integrate these concepts into leadership practices to reduce work-related stress and improve the quality of healthcare provided.
\nThis scientific event reflects the College\u2019s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 on quality education through enhancing the competence of nursing staff, and Goal 3 on good health and well-being through strengthening the psychological and social aspects of the healthcare system.<\/p>\n
