The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Nursing organized a specialized workshop titled \u201cThe Role of Nursing Media in Raising Awareness in the Community.\u201d The workshop, held in Hall No. 1, saw active participation from a select group of faculty members and undergraduate students. It was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Aqil Habib Jassim and Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Mohammed Majid and Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Faleh Hassan
\nThe workshop aimed to highlight the essential role of nursing in the media promotion of preventive campaigns and to enhance the ability of nursing staff to confront epidemics and diseases through sound scientific education. The lecturers reviewed modern health education concepts as an educational and social process aimed at instilling beneficial health behaviors based on the World Health Organization\u2019s , which defines health as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease
\nThe discussions highlighted the remarkable development in health media tools and channels, as well as how to utilize modern technology to effectively reach the target audience. Researchers emphasized that nursing media represents a strategic tool in building public awareness that contributes to media regulation and the elevation of society\u2019s value and ethical systems
\nThe workshop concluded with a set of practical recommendations aimed at institutionalizing health communication, most notably the launch of specialized programs through a call to establish a weekly awareness program broadcast on satellite TV to highlight common diseases and methods of prevention, as well as the activation of digital platforms by leveraging the college\u2019s social media pages to present positive and innovative content that promotes public taste, in addition to strengthening community partnerships by encouraging initiatives that integrate modern technology into the production of meaningful health media content
\nThis event is part of a series of college activities supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 3 on good health and well-being and Goal 4 on quality education, by adapting modern educational methods to serve health education and improve the reality of Iraqi society<\/p>\n
