The Continuing Education Unit at the College of Nursing organized a specialized workshop titled “Geriatric Care in Community Health Nursing,” presented by Professor Raad Karim Faraj and Assistant Professor Asil Ghazi Mahmoud, faculty members in the Community Health Nursing Department. The workshop was held in the Continuing Education Hall in the presence of a group of faculty members and graduate students, as part of the college\u2019s efforts to enhance the competence of academic staff and research students in dealing with older age groups in accordance with the latest scientific approaches.<\/p>\n
The workshop covered modern approaches to caring for the elderly and how to address common health issues they face, while highlighting the vital role of community health nurses in this context. It also discussed integrated healthcare strategies that ensure the delivery of exceptional nursing care. The workshop also featured discussions on ways to improve the preventive and therapeutic services provided to this important segment of society.<\/p>\n
The workshop concluded with recommendations emphasizing the need for continuous efforts to improve the quality of life for the elderly and enhance their independence by providing comprehensive and essential care that meets their physical and psychological needs. This event is part of a series of continuing education activities adopted by the college to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 on quality education and Goal 8 on promoting decent work and economic growth through the development of professional skills and the creation of a healthy and safe work environment.<\/p>\n
