The Continuing Education Unit, in collaboration with the Mental Health Nursing Department at the College of Nursing, University of Baghdad, organized a specialized awareness workshop titled \u201cPsychological Vulnerability Among Fourth-Year Students from a Mental Health Nursing Perspective.\u201d The workshop was presented by Dr. Iman Abdul Zahra Issa and attended by five groups of fourth-year students in Lecture Hall No.<\/p>\n
The workshop\u2019s main objectives were to provide a precise explanation of the concept of psychological vulnerability from the perspectives of psychology and psychiatric nursing, with a focus on mechanisms for distinguishing this vulnerability from other mental disorders. It also highlighted the various sources of psychological stress faced by nursing students, particularly during their final year, and how to link this concept to to enhance the student\u2019s role as a competent mental health care provider and as an individual with sufficient awareness to care for their own mental health<\/p>\n
The workshop concluded with a set of key recommendations emphasizing that psychological fragility represents a natural human experience that individuals may go through, noting that psychiatric nursing students may be more vulnerable to professional pressures, which requires the recognition that psychological resilience is an acquired skill that can be learned and continuously developed, stressing that taking care of one\u2019s is an indispensable personal and professional responsibility in the healthcare profession<\/p>\n
This workshop is organized as part of the college\u2019s Continuing Education Unit\u2019s regular activities to enhance students\u2019 skills and expertise, as these events contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 on good health and well-being and Goal 4 on quality education, by elevating students\u2019 cognitive and psychological levels and equipping them to face the challenges of the with resilience and awareness<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
