The Continuing Education Unit, in collaboration with the Maternal and Neonatal Nursing Department at the College of Nursing, University of Baghdad, concluded an intensive specialized training course titled “Pre-Marital Examinations,” presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Aqdas Daoud Salman in the Continuing Education Hall, with active participation from students in the department interested in developing their skills in preventive healthcare
\nOver the course of five consecutive days, the course focused on equipping participants with scientific knowledge and practical expertise regarding the medical and laboratory tests necessary for those planning to marry, with an intensive focus on the mechanisms for interpreting and analyzing tests for genetic and infectious diseases, and how to provide sound genetic counseling that ensures the well-being of future generations. The concluding sessions also featured a review of the skills acquired in analyzing health risks and providing evidence-based medical guidance
\nAt the conclusion of the course, the College emphasized the importance of training these nursing professionals to be able to protect society and limit the spread of genetic diseases, noting that this activity represents a practical step toward building a healthy and thriving society. This course is part of the college\u2019s strategy to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education), by equipping students with specialized skills that contribute to improving community health outcomes<\/p>\n
