The Nursing Fundamentals Department at the College of Nursing, University of Baghdad, organized a specialized field trip for adult nursing master’s students to the Ibn Al-Bitar Specialized Heart Surgery Center <\/span>under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hakima Shaker Hassan. The initiative aimed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of leadership roles in nursing management and hone their skills in making critical decisions related to health assessment and rapid interventions<\/span><\/p>\n

The visit aimed to inform researchers about the latest global trends in emergency medicine and advanced cardiac resuscitation, and the need for immediate intervention to save the lives of the injured and avoid serious complications, through an intensive tour that included the cardiac catheterization, intensive care, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation units, which allowed them to interact directly with specialized staff and closely observe clinical work mechanisms.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through these initiatives, the college seeks to enable students to acquire the necessary skills for accurate diagnosis and differentiation between complex medical cases in order to provide the optimal intervention that ensures the preservation of patients’ lives, which directly contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) by improving the outcomes of higher education, and Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by providing health institutions with senior staff who have the necessary field expertise to develop the health sector.<\/span><\/p>\n
