<\/p>\nThe Community Health Nursing Department at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Baghdad, organized a scientific field visit to the National Center for Occupational Health and Safety affiliated with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, with the participation of fourth-year students and under the supervision of a select group of faculty members. The visit aimed to introduce students to the vital role of the center in diagnosing and monitoring occupational diseases, where students were directly exposed to the nature of health services provided to workers in consulting clinics, the mechanisms of conducting physical fitness tests and lung function, hearing, heart and vision tests, as well as exposure to radiology and sonar services.
\nThe event included a field tour of the center’s departments, during which detailed scientific explanations were provided on occupational risk prevention programs and mechanisms for applying health and safety standards in various workplaces. This helped to strengthen the link between theoretical knowledge and practical experience for the students and clarified the role of community health nurses in the field of occupational health and injury prevention. At the end of the visit, the students expressed their appreciation to the center’s management and staff for their warm welcome, emphasizing that these visits are a fundamental pillar for expanding their scientific knowledge and gaining field experience.
\nThis initiative is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by focusing on worker health and occupational disease prevention, the fourth goal (quality education) by providing practical educational opportunities that enhance students’ practical skills, and the eighth goal (decent work and economic growth), which is about providing safe and secure work environments for all workers.<\/p>\n
