The Basic Sciences Department at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Baghdad, organized a field visit to Al-Hurriya Secondary School for Girls to give specialized awareness lectures on the topics of domestic violence and cyber violence. The lectures were given by Assistant Professor Dr. Najla Hamza Abdul, Assistant Professor Ahmed Shihab Ahmed, teacher Dr. Maysa Hamid Abdul Amir, biology assistant Wissam Hamid Ahmed, and chemistry assistant Sarah Kamal Shafi at the school.
\nThis initiative was launched to reinforce efforts aimed at protecting individuals and preserving their dignity from any form of physical, psychological, or verbal abuse, whether within the family or through digital media.
\nThese lectures are part of the institutional service activities supervised by the Dean of the College of Nursing, which aim to promote family and social stability by building a safe environment where mutual respect prevails. Spreading awareness of the harms and dangers of violence to individuals and society. Working to provide support and protection to victims, in addition to achieving legal accountability and deterring perpetrators.
\nThis awareness initiative is a vital contribution to achieving the fifth Sustainable Development Goal (gender equality) and the sixteenth goal (peace, justice, and strong institutions). By combating domestic and cyber violence and promoting awareness of rights and dignity, the college supports the building of inclusive and just societies, ensuring a safe and stable environment for all.<\/p>\n
