Assistant Professor Dr. Alaa Hassan Marza Hussein and Assistant Professor Dr. Ibtisam Khalaf Abdul Ali, from the Basic Sciences Department at the College of Nursing, University of Baghdad, organized a field visit to Al-Tadhia Preparatory School for Girls in the Al-Hurriya district.<\/p>\n
The visit was part of the Pink October activities to raise awareness about breast cancer, during which they gave an awareness lecture to students entitled “Raising Awareness among Teenage Girls about Breast Cancer.”<\/p>\n
The lecture aimed to raise awareness and educate students about the dangers of breast cancer in its early stages. It included an introduction to how the disease occurs and the most important factors that lead to its development. It emphasized the utmost importance of early detection of this disease. Training on the necessity of regular breast self-examination as a basic preventive measure.
\nThese lectures are part of the community service activities supervised by the Deanship of the College of Nursing, which aim to spread health awareness among various segments of society, especially young people.<\/p>\n
This community event is in line with the college’s commitment to achieving the third of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (Good Health and Well-being). By educating teenage girls about health, the college contributes to building a generation that is aware and capable of adopting preventive health behaviors from an early age, which supports the reduction of disease rates in the long term.<\/p>\n
