The Maternal and Neonatal Nursing Branch at the College of Nursing at Baghdad University organized a specialized awareness workshop entitled: “Early detection of breast cancer and prevention methods”, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Noha Adel Ibrahim at the Ministry of Water Resources, in cooperation with the Department of Women’s Empowerment.<\/p>\n
The workshop aimed to increase community awareness of the importance of early detection of breast cancer, as it addressed topics that included defining the causes of the disease and the correct methods of self-examination and clinical examination, in addition to directing participants to accredited health centers that provide early detection services and the necessary care for women’s health.
\nThe workshop also included extensive discussions on effective means of prevention and ways to promote health awareness among women, to encourage them to adopt healthy lifestyles. At the end of the workshop, the most important recommendations that contribute to the prevention of breast cancer were presented, most notably the commitment to regular physical activity and a healthy and balanced diet to maintain a healthy and disease-free life.<\/p>\n
This workshop embodies the college’s commitment to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 3 (good health and well-being) and Goal 5 (gender equality). By spreading awareness about breast cancer prevention and early detection, the college is directly contributing to reducing early mortality rates, promoting preventive health care for women, and empowering them to make informed decisions about their health, supporting the building of a healthier and more sustainable society.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
