As part of strengthening academic integration and cooperation between Iraqi universities, Assistant Professor Dr. Zaid Wahid Ajil, head of the pediatric nursing branch at the College of Nursing at the University of Baghdad, participated in a ministerial committee to develop a postgraduate program (master’s) at the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Basra.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Zaid, who is considered one of the scientific competencies in the field of pediatric nursing, will contribute his extensive experience in establishing the academic and methodological foundations of the new program. The ministerial committee aims to review and audit the requirements for developing the p<\/span>rogram according to the scientific and educational standards approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, to ensure the quality of the outputs and meet the needs of the health sector in the governorate.<\/span><\/p>\n

The role of this participation is not limited to academic support, but comes in line with the national commitment to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically the third goal (good health and well-being). The introduction of the master’s program contributes to the preparation of specialized and qualified nursing cadres to provide advanced health care, which enhances the quality of the health system in the Iraqi governorates. Goal 4 (Quality Education) By supporting the establishment of high-quality graduate programs in nursing, students are ensured access to comprehensive and equitable educational opportunities that keep pace with global scientific developments. Goal 17 (Partnerships to achieve goals) The participation of a faculty member from the University of Baghdad in a committee affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and the University of Basra is an effective model of partnership and cooperation between national institutions to exchange experiences and direct them towards achieving common goals to develop the educational and health sector.<\/span><\/p>\n
