<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Fundamentals of Nursing Branch at Baghdad University College of Nursing organized a field visit for professional diploma students to Ibn Al-Bitar Specialized Center for Cardiac Surgery. The educational visit was supervised by Prof. Dr. Hakima Shaker Hassan from the same branch.<\/p>\n
The visit aimed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the nurse’s leadership role in managing critical cases, and to refine their skills in making critical decisions related to nursing care and health assessment. It also sought to introduce them to the latest trends in the field of emergency medicine and advanced cardiac life support and highlight the importance of rapid intervention to save the lives of patients and avoid potential complications.<\/p>\n
The visit program included a tour of vital departments at the center, starting from the cardiac catheterization department, which represents the first line in dealing with critical cases, to the intensive care unit and the cardiopulmonary resuscitation unit. The tour gave students the opportunity to view the workflow and interact directly with the specialized medical and nursing staff.<\/p>\n
This initiative comes within a series of field visits planned by the Nursing Fundamentals Branch to enhance students’ knowledge and practical capabilities in the field of critical care nursing and emergency medicine. Through these visits, the college seeks to empower students and acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to accurately distinguish between different medical conditions, make a proper diagnosis, and provide optimal medical and nursing intervention to preserve patients’ lives and minimize complications that may lead to the deterioration of their health condition.<\/p>\n
This visit directly contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 4 “Quality Education”, by providing comprehensive, fair and quality learning opportunities, and ensuring the promotion of lifelong learning for healthcare students, which qualifies them to provide specialized care that contributes to achieving Goal 3 “Good Health and Wellbeing”, as well as the promotion of lifelong learning for health care students.<\/p>\n
