<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The College of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed a master’s thesis entitled “Using the Health Belief Model to Understand Pregnant Women’s Adherence to Oral Health Behaviors” by student Nibras Thamer Ismail under the supervision of instructor Dr. Hawra Karim Abd Ali in the college’s Great Hall<\/p>\n
The thesis aimed to understand the factors that affect the commitment of pregnant women to oral health behaviors, based on the extended health beliefs model (EHBM).<\/p>\n
The results showed that multiple factors such as hormonal changes, behavioral and social factors significantly affect oral health during pregnancy. The study found that increasing the number of pregnancies was associated with lower oral care intention, while health knowledge, especially the role of vitamin D, played an important role in promoting dental health.<\/p>\n
Recommendations of the dissertation Integrate oral health screenings and education into routine pregnancy care, encourage daily preventive practices, as well as foster collaboration between dentists and obstetricians and gynecologists. The researcher received a grade of “C”.<\/p>\n
This study directly contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 3 (good health and well-being), providing a practical framework for improving maternal and child health. Oral health care during pregnancy not only affects the mother, but also contributes to preventing future health issues for the child.<\/p>\n
