The college of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed a master’s thesis entitled “The effect of chamomile tea and ozonated water on oral mucositis in patients undergoing chemotherapy: A Randomized Controlled Trial” by Zeina Bassem Khreibat under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Fleih Hassan in the Faculty’s Great Hall<\/p>\n

The thesis aimed to evaluate the effect of chamomile tea and ozonated water mouthwash on the severity of oral mucositis in chemotherapy patients. The study concluded that the use of both is a useful intervention for patients suffering from this condition during the treatment period.<\/p>\n

One of the most important recommendations from the study is to encourage patients and their families to follow safe home oral care practices to minimize discomfort and complications caused by chemotherapy. The researcher received an “A” grade for her thesis.<\/p>\n

This study contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goal 3 ‘Good Health and Wellbeing’, by providing innovative and effective therapeutic solutions to improve the quality of life of cancer patients during treatment. This research supports healthcare efforts to minimize the unpleasant side effects of chemotherapy, positively impacting patients’ well-being and ability to better tolerate treatment.<\/p>\n
